Obituary of Marie J. Masci

Marie J. (Ovittore) Masci died on Saturday February 11, 2012 at St. Joseph's Senior's Home and Nursing Center in Woodbridge. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Masci was born in Newburgh, NY, and was raised in Tuckahoe, NY. Upon marriage, she lived in Baltimore, MD before returning to Tuckahoe. She later lived in Mamaroneck before moving to Brattleboro, VT where she lived for 18 years before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. in 2008. She was a volunteer at St. Michael's RC Church in Brattleboro at their soup kitchen for eight years while being a parishioner for 18 years. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Carroll Houck, her second husband, Joseph Masci, one brother, Louis Ovittore, and two sisters, Anna Emery, and Jean Viafore. She is survived by two daughters, Sr. Carolyn Houck, MPF of Kendall Park, and JoAnn M. Vulcano and her husband Anthony J. of Ponte Vedra, FL, two grandchildren, Elaine Parker and her husband Joel, and Anthony Vulcano, two great granddaughters, Elizabeth Marie Parker, and Lauren Marie Parker, one brother-in-law, Donald Emery of Peekskill, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin at 9:45am Tuesday February 14, 2012 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. Cremation is private. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday at the funeral home.
