Obituary of Edith M. Monaco

Edith M. (Grigoli) Monaco passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 75 years old. Mrs. Monaco was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived there until moving to Concordia, Monroe Twp. in 2004. She was a purchasing agent for Shearson Lehman Brothers in New York City for 15 years before her retirement in 1999. Edith was a devoted homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John L. Monaco of Concordia, Monroe Twp., two sons, Jeffrey J. Monaco, Sr. and his wife Rosemarie of Paramus, and John A. Monaco and his wife Christine of Monroe Twp., six grandchildren, Jeffrey John, Mark A., Richard, Luke, John Peter, and Michael. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 9:00am Monday, February 6, 2012 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Interment will follow in Green Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 7-9pm and Sunday 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
