Obituary of John J. Kent

John J. Kent died on Tuessday January 31, 2012 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 77 years old. Mr. Kent was born and raised in New York City. He lived in Connecticut for many years before moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. in 1999. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a salesman for Entemann's and retired in 1997. He was a fourth degree Knight of Columbus and was a member of the Nativity Of Our Lord Council #14658. He was a parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp., and was a member of the Holy Name Society, and St. Vincent de Paul Society at the Church. He was also a member of the Rossmoor Italian American Club.
He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Diane (Nurneerger) Kent in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Gertrude S. (Shatz) Kent of Rossmoor, Monroe Twp., two daughters, Karen Brittan and her husband Kenneth of Davie, FL, and Annmarie Smith and her husband David of Deep River, CT, four sons, Joseph Kent of Maryland, John Kent and his wife Patricia of Norfolk, VA, James Kent of Norfolk, VA, and Edward Kent and his wife Nicole of Clinton, CT, three sisters, Patricia Klvana of Queens, NY, Catherine McAuliff of Tulsa, OK, and Jane Christofileas of Monroe Twp., fifteen grandchildren, one step-son, Joseph Venezian and his wife Linda of North Brunswick, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 8:45am Saturday February 4, 2012 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. followed by Interment in West Cemetery, Madison, CT. Visitation will be Friday from 2-5pm at the funeral home.
