Obituary of Ernest J. Bauerle

Ernest J. Bauerle died on Sunday January 22, 2012 at Wynwood @ Forsgate Assisted Living, Monroe Twp. He was 85 years old. Mr. Bauerle was born and raised in Staten Island and lived there until moving to Rossmoor, Monroe Twp. in 1992. He served in the US Navy during WWII, graduated from NYU in 1951, and was later employed as a salesman for Petersen Tool & Die Co. in Staten Island. He worked there for most of his career and retired in 1992. He was an athlete his entire life and especially enjoyed playing golf. He was pre-deceased by his wife Mona Jane (Petersen) Bauerle in 2006. He is survived by his son, Peter E. Bauerle and his wife Patricia of Belgrade, MT, two daughters, Mona J. Papa and her husband William J. of Pocono Pines, PA, and Nancy C. Walker of Staten Island, nine grandchildren, Peter Arlis, Patrick, Phenocia, and Peri Bauerle, William, Eric, and Lee Ann Papa, and Jeffrey, and Juliana Walker, five great grandchildren, Anthony, Kaleigh, Ali, and Vincent Bauerle, and Vienna Papa, a son-in-law, Kevin W. Walker, and many nieces and nephews. A private cremation took place under the direction of the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A memorial service will be 11:30am Saturday January 28, 2012 at Great Kills Moravian Church, 74 Hillside Terr. Staten Island, NY 10308.
