Frank Blaise Casale died Saturday December 31st at home. He was 88 years old. Born in Pt. Reading to the late Joseph Casale and Lena (Anthony) Casale, he lived in Woodbridge until moving to Clearbrook in Monroe Twp. in August of 1998.
He started a 50 year career in the printing industry in newspaper production and management for the Rahway Record, and then opened Casale Printing in Carteret. As a well respected voice in the printing industry, he served as a guest lecturer at Seton Hall University. He finally retired in 1995 from Wolfe Press in Tinton Falls.
He served in the US Army during WW2, attaining the rank of sergeant in the 3rd Infantry, participating in battles in North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal and six Battle Stars for active participation in Naples, Rome, Anzio, Southern France Rhineland and Central Europe.
Upon moving to Clearbrook, he became active in his community serving as a member of the Board of Directors of Section 10, and was a member of the Italian-American and Bocci Clubs. He was a member of Nativity of Our Lord RCC, Monroe Twp.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Johanna (Moroney), three daughters, Joanne Kocheran and her husband, Ronald of Freehold, formerly of Monroe Twp., Donna Casale of Summerville, SC and Chino Hills, CA, and Mary Ann Fritzinger of Hillsborough, two sons, Francis and his wife, Patricia of Millstone Twp., and Raymond and his wife, Andrea of Lancaster, PA.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Richard and Brian Kocheran, Christopher, Craig, Melissa, Samantha and Anastasia Casale, and Carson Fritzinger, and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 9:45am on Thursday January 5, 2012 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. Interment will follow in the NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
