Obituary of Rosalie J. Murno

Monroe Township Rosalie J. (Costa) Murno, 88, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2012. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Murno, mother of Joseph D. Murno and Linda C. Gausten, grandmother of Christine Gorcica, Ronald Anderson, Carmela Marsillo, Matthew Murno, and Elizabeth Murno, great grandmother of Linda Rose, Olivia, and Dakota, and sister to Grace Scotto, Carmine Costa, and the late Lucy Wisney, Mildred Murno, Frank Costa, Tony Costa, John Costa, and Jackie Codianni. Rosalie was born in Little Italy and lived most of her life in Brooklyn, then later in the Clearbrook Community in Monroe, New Jersey. She worked as an executive secretary for Manufacturer's Hanover Trust Company, which later became Chemical Bank, then Chase Manhattan Bank. While at Clearbrook, she was the past president of the Catholic Society during the late eighties and early nineties. She was a poet, and was wise, warm, and witty, charming, generous, and fun to be with. She will be missed dearly. Funeral services will begin at 10:45am on Thursday January 5, 2012 from the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:30am at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, Monroe Twp. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum, S. Brunswick. Visitation will be 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
