Bill was a great guy.. always willing to help and mentor, and always smiling and laughing. He taught me how to look at society differently, and with more of an open mind. For that I am truly blessed to have known him. I will always remember our discussions about music and the arts. My deepest condolences to your family. Rest in peace, Bill.

My thanks to everyone, from every chapter of Bill's life, that has reached out to me and his family during this awful, awful experience. As much as I may have chided him for all that Facebook time, I now know that it wasn't just Farmville --- he was busy sharing that wit, charm, and warmth that was lighting up my life for the last ten years. That light still burns in each of us that he touched. but the light is no longer as strong. It's now up to us, the living, to sustain that glow, and I know we will. He wouldn't have it any other way.
Rest in peace, my love.

I just can't believe that Bill's gone!!! I hadn't seen Bill for a few years. We only exchanged email when he had snapshot or prime questions and of course zebo the cat.
He's a very smart and fun loving guy. He will be greatly missed. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Pat

I am so very saddened by Bill's passing. He was not only a co-worker, but someone that I could truly call a friend.
Bill always had a smile on his face, and had a zest for life. We had alot of laughs together over the years and shared many stories(and he shared some of his famous recipes with me).
He always told you the truth, was always willing to help and had a genuine concern for his fellow friends . Bill was a good, decent human being. His giggly laugh always brought a smile to my face.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family and friends. He will truly be missed.

Bill was my mentor when I rejoined HBO back in 2006 - but most importantly, he quickly became my friend. His positive outlook on life, his outgoing persona has touched my heart and I will never forget him. My deepest condolences to John and Bill's family.

I knew Bill from his time at HBO - we shared much, from an interest in environmentalism, to being Rutgers alum and Jerseyites, to our love of British 80's alternative, particularly the Smiths and Morrissey. Though we didn't necessarily agree with each other politically, each interaction with Bill was thought provoking and made me think about the larger questions in life.
