Obituary of Bernice Clegg
Bernice (Farber) Clegg passed away on Friday May 17, 2019 at Cranbury Center in Monroe Twp. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Clegg was born in Jersey City. She later lived in West New York, Brooklyn, NY, and Sayreville, before moving to Monroe Twp. in 2004. She worked for Brooklyn College for many years before her retirement in 1995. Bernice enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and baking. She gave back to the community as well, but most of all she cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, sister, and family.
She was pre-deceased by her husband, Thomas J. Clegg, Jr. in 2003, and three siblings, Harry Farber, Leonard Farber, and Helen Farber.
She is survived by five children, Thomas J. Clegg, III and his wife Sharon of New Windsor, NY, Dennis G. Clegg and his wife Desiree of West Islip, NY, Maureen A. Clegg of Monroe Twp., Theresa M. Jadwinski and her husband Stanley of Monroe Twp., and Madeline M. Simonelli and her husband Richard of Monroe Twp., her sister, Lucille O'Hare of Toms River, her sister-in-law, Ellie Farber of Toms River, seven grandchildren, Thomas J., IV, Brian, Alexandra, Adam, Christopher, Sara, and Tyler, her loving 'dog,' Jax, and many other extended family members.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday May 20, 2019 and from 9:15am to 9:45am on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc., 205 Rhode Hall Rd. Monroe Twp., NJ 08831, 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 9:45am on Tuesday from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 10:30am at Immaculate Conception RC Church, Spotswood followed by Interment in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
