Obituary of Nicholas S. Brigandi

Nicholas S. Brigandi – Monroe Township, NJ

Nicholas S. Brigandi, 72, died on Monday May 9, 2019 at Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean Medical Center.  Nicholas was born in Santo Stefano Di Camastra, Italy and came to the United States in 1956; he resided in Newark, Irvington, Bloomfield and Colonia, before moving to Monroe Township, NJ fifteen years ago.  Nicholas proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he later became a United States Citizen in 2002.  He was employed by National Starch and Chemical Company for forty plus years, retiring in 2009.  Nicholas loved spending time with his grandchildren, was a sports enthusiast and an avid fan of the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.  He was also a member of the Italian American Club and the Veteran Club of the Renaissance @ Monroe.

Nicholas is survived by his loving wife of forty nine years, Janet (Carollo) Brigandi of Monroe Township, NJ, his son, Vincent Brigandi and his wife Dina of Carteret, NJ, his daughter, Gina Sachkowsky of Farmingdale, NJ, his brother, Carmen Brigandi and his wife Marie of Toms River, NJ, his sister, Angela Guanci and her husband Sam of East Hanover, NJ, and his eight grandchildren; Jaidyn, Jake, Daniel, Devin, Alexa, Cassiano, Angelina, and Julianna.

Visitation will be 4-8pm on Monday May 13, 2019 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831.  Funeral services will begin at 8:45am on Tuesday May 14, 2019 from the funeral home.  A funeral liturgy will be 9:30am on Tuesday at Nativity of Our Lord RC Church, 185 Applegarth Rd, Monroe Township, NJ followed by interment in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ.
