Obituary of Marcia L. Murray

Marcia L (Samrick) Murray, 76, passed away at her residence in Monroe Twp. on Wednesday May 1, 2019.  Marcie was born and raised in Brooklyn.  She lived in Howell before moving to Staten Island where she lived for over 20 years.  She then lived in Scotch Plains for 13 years and finally settled in Monroe Twp. in 2001.  Marcie was employed as an x-ray receptionist at the Staten Island Hospital for 10 years.  She was an avid miniature dollhouse builder, a hobby she began 26 years ago.  Marcie also enjoyed knitting and loved traveling, especially cruises and she enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband.   

Marcie was pre deceased by her sister, Leah Scalise (2016). 

She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Edwin P. Murray of Monroe Twp., her children: Michael Platt of Port Charlotte, FL, Richard Platt and his wife Karen of Clayton, NC, Lorrie Prasch and her husband Phillip of Helmetta, Edwin S. Murray of Hobe Sound, FL, Eric B. Murray and his wife Beth of Jupiter, FL, Eileen Pruitt and her husband Ron of Colonia and Elizabeth Ayers and her husband Scott of Chesepeake, VA. three sisters: Arlene Zaldo and her husband Jerry of Villages, FL, Carol Maher and her husband Vic of North Port, FL and Susan Acree of the Poconos, ten grandchildren: Stephen Pruitt, RJ Pruitt, Randi Guzsaly and her husband Chris, Rachel Ayers, Jacob Ayers, Paige Platt,  Jensen Murray, PJ Prasch, Justin Prasch and Jason Prasch and one great granddaughter, Hazel Guzsaly.

Visitation will be 4-7pm on Sunday May 5, 2019, 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Monday May 6, 2019 and 9-10am on Tuesday May 7, 2019 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ  08831 - 732-521-0555 - www.demarcofuneralhome.com.  A catholic blessing will be 10am on Tuesday at the funeral home followed by entombment in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum - South Brunswick.
