Obituary of Pauline T. Smith
Pauline T. Smith, age 99, passed away on Tuesday April 9, 2019 at the rehab center Village Point at Monroe Village. Born in Windsor N.J. on October 28, 1919 she has lived in Jamesburg for more than 70 years. She graduated from Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey) in 1940 and began her teaching career in Allentown, N.J. At the age of 23 she became the principle of the Windsor School in Windsor, N.J. and after a break to raise her daughter she taught sixth grade for 25 years at the Grace M. Breckwedel School in Jamesburg. Upon her retirement she served briefly on the Jamesburg Board of Education. She also served on the Jamesburg Public library Board of trustees, was a Deacon at the Jamesburg Presbyterian Church and a member for 40 years of the Round About book club of Jamesburg.
Mrs. Smith was pre-deceased by her parents, Ada Mount Tantum and William Tantum as well as her husband Kenneth B. Smith and her sister, Edith Alton.
She is survived by her daughter Ruth Ellen Ruddick and her husband Lease of Princeton; her grandson, Brad Ruddick of Ft. Worth, TX; her granddaughter Amy and her husband Joseph of Pensacola, FL. Also surviving is her brother, Stanley Tantum and his wife Patricia of Princeton, and 6 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday April 16th at 11:00 am at The Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg, 175 Gatzmer Ave., Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
