Genduso, Betty passed away at home early on the morning of January 15th in Princeton surrounded by her two loving daughters and three devoted caregivers. Betty was born on January 31, 1923 in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England to Edith Fanny Baxter Cox and Edwin Cox. Betty was a dedicated mother to her daughters, Dr. Debra-Lynn Day-Salvatore and Dr. Paula Marie Colletti, and was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Robert S. Genduso, son-in-law, Dr. Francis P. Salvatore, Sr., and three older siblings. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Anthony Colletti, and several nieces and nephews. Betty loved to play tennis and field hockey growing up in Burton, hometown to Bass Ale, where her father was a well-known master cooper. During WW2, she worked in the codebreaking unit of the British army, where she met and fell in love with a US Army Captain stationed there. They married, and she sailed to America on the Queen Mary in 1944, settling first in West New York, moving then to Englewood Cliffs, and finally to Princeton. While living in Englewood Cliffs, she was a volunteer with the Shade Tree Commission and Democratic Club. Betty was known for her artistic talents and creativity. She was an accomplished seamstress; her knitting, beaded flowers, and petit pointe were exquisite. She loved flowers and raised glorious roses and African violets. Betty enjoyed traveling, cooking, and entertaining and will be remembered for her many acts of kindness and generosity.
