Obituary of Joanmarie Merola

Joanmarie Merola - East Brunswick, NJ Joanmarie Merola, 55, died on Thursday January 10, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side. Joanmarie was born in Newark, NJ and resided in Edison, NJ before moving to East Brunswick, NJ twenty eight years ago. She was an executive secretary for AT&T at their corporate office in Basking Ridge, NJ and later a homemaker. Joanmarie was the past president of the PTA in East Brunswick, NJ and a parishioner of St. Bartholomew’s RC Church. Joanmarie is preceded in death by her parents Joseph Strumolo and Carmella (Conti) Strumolo, her sister, Karen Gotz and her niece Stephanie Gotz. Joanmarie is survived by her husband John Merola, sons; Joseph Merola, Jonathan Merola and Philip Merola, sisters; Valerie Mauro (Thomas), Debbie Corio-Monaco (Michael), brother-in-law, Tom Gotz, nephews Tommy Mauro (Nicole), Christopher Gotz, Kevin Gotz, nieces; Deanna Corio, Danielle Corio, Dana Corio, great nephew, Thomas and great niece, Madison. Also surviving are extended family members and friends. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9pm on Sunday January 13, 2019 at the M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, Inc. - 205 Rhode Hall Rd., Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 - 732-521-0555. Funeral services will begin at 10:15am on Monday January 14, 2019 from the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be 11:15am on Monday at St. Helena RC Church - 950 Grove Ave, Edison, NJ 08820 followed by entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens - Woodbridge, NJ.
