Penny was employed as medical receptionist in Queens, NJ. Her work with seniors, the community and as liaison to police officer program of the 81st Precinct in Brooklyn earned her national recognition from the House of Representatives Hon. Edolphus Towns receiving a Congressional Tribute. She was also recognized by NYC Mayor David Dinkins for her work with seniors before retiring to New Jersey. As a young girl she was a competitive swimmer and track runner. Her enthusiasm for both sports followed her all her life and was avid fan of the Olympics. She enjoyed the arts, visiting museums, traveling and loved to read. She was a Girl Scout Leader for Troop 4728. She spent many afternoons playing Canasta with her friends in Spotswood. She was very artistic and enjoyed crocheting, drawing and beadwork but most of all she enjoyed every moment she spent with her family, friends, and neighbors. She impressed the lives of people who knew her with pearls of wisdom with a splash of humor. In her youth, she danced many recitals at Carnegie Hall and is probably tapping her angel toes now in the city she loved, New York.
